Does Farcaster (Warpcast app) have culture?

I don’t get all complaining about Twitter moving to a subscription model. Assume it’s mostly Elon bad, so new thing Elon does is bad.

The product will improve if the default experience is you only see subscribers.

Apple Notes is garbage, I don't know what you people are talking about:
1. The quick note always brings you back to the same desktop instead of coming to your new desktop
2. You can't create a new note in quicknotes using CMD + N unless you quit and reopen Notes
3. Sometimes copying from notes doesn't work!?

We still have a lot to figure out, but any proprietary follow metric from Warpcast will mean follows on Warpcast will be a de facto graph vs. pushing the protocol in the direction of revealed preference graph (a la PageRank).

Follower count on Farcaster is a function of being early and active. Will also go away once we ship amps.

imo, $1M is the threshold that people start paying attention. It's a big round number. Schelling Point to draw attention (the whole exercise is called the BitSignal). Don't over think it.

The only number you can trust is an SEC disclosure of how many public company shares an individual owns. And even then, you can't sell all of those for cash without tanking price / taxes.

Plenty of people who decline to be on the "lists". People who opt into lists a likely doing so for marketing.

why rename the client instead of the protocol?

Brand equity built for Farcaster should benefit the protocol!

No magic solution, just a bunch of little things to grind up DAU over the first year and half. Being an active user of the product ourselves helped a lot. NFT feed appealed to a certain niche that stuck around.

Onboarding people with already big Twitter followings was a flop.

decoupling: as in asset prices move uncorrelated to S&P 500? I don't think so. Crypto is a generational shift imo.

Founders, what's your take on vacation policy? 

"Unlimited" moreso means "unlimited within reason", which is ambiguous and often leads employees to take less vacation. 

Fixed limit that increases with seniority?

aim for 3 weeks for everyone including founders. try to have end of year week be off for everyone. don't over complicate it.
