I get sudden anxiety/irrational fear of getting TSS after it’s only been a few hours 😂  

Got me thinking, what are other unique-to-women anxieties? 

A few others for me:
- checking if somebody is following me home 
- not trusting anybody other than myself to watch my drink

I don't think so? But I might've had TSS or septic shock at one point during my cancer treatment when a team of 15 doctors rushed in freaking out. I couldn't speak the language well enough to understand medical terminology and nobody was listening or responding to my questions anyway because I was 18 and a "foreigner"

To be fair, the framework held up well for many decades, reducing information asymmetry and fraud, albeit with unintended consequences. Tidy markets are in everyone’s interest. 

However it’s become woefully out of date and self-interested bureaucrats are arbitrarily preventing its updating.

Also the “framework” is just giving the SEC carte blanche over all investments (unless specifically regulated by another agency). The language itself is ridiculously broad and ambiguous. 

As is common with regulation, it’s not 100% evil or ONLY bad but there are unintended consequences and they get stale quick.

It could be something about the context and culture that you were digesting while learning those languages

Coming to a close on finishing up the translation app featuring Whisper through Pureflex. I noticed the language detection success rate is better if spoken by a native. Starts hallucinating when I read Deutsch to it but picks up fine on others.

What book did you read at an early age that you thought was dumb but later re-read as an adult and found more meaningful?

Great Gatsby and Shakespeare for me.

After reading that Hunter S. Thompson would type out his favorite novels (Great Gatsby, A Farewell to Arms) to get a feel for how they were written I tried it with Gatsby. Really fun exercise and you really do start to mimic the cadences. Wears off after a while though like an English accent after a summer abroad.

To love (verb) is the literal translation from the spanish title

We use the infinitive of the verb (amar) to express the same that english speakers do with the gerund

While many people routinely ask about the best applications and real world examples for large language models, questions that can be somewhat boring and often have straightforward answers. What about the other side of the coin? Are there any domains where you think large language models should be avoided?

I notice among people I talk to more enthusiasm toward learning French than Spanish. This confuses me; my feeling is that Spanish unlocks far more countries and speakers than French does and so is a more natural first choice.

What do people think motivates this choice?

I don't think it aged fantastically - the grunting and staring sequences are brutal and the story is about as vanilla as it gets. But the moves and power ups were just so cool. Also, the good guys always won through hard work or friendship and the English dub was great.
