What's something that's confusing to you about Farcaster?

What are your thoughts on why Farcaster isn’t growing active users?

Not sure top line MAUs is a good focus at this stage.

I'd wager retention & activity of the Purple & NFT active cohorts have significantly improved, and that scaling the number of DAOs and NFT communities that can utilize Warpcast would have greatest long term value creation.

Invites going to “followers” rather than other creators? Like you give invites to some content creator, they hand them out to their followers on other platforms. The followers join warpcast but then find that the person who invited is not creating content on farcaster. They drop off before finding new creators.

Sometimes I remember a thread that I want to continue some days later and playing hide and seek through the long scroll of the notifications tab is not very helpful for recall, or saving my own time

We're going to be deprecating the purple checkmark badge this week and replacing it with something more meaningful!

Why?
- Originally novel idea for NFT avatars, before it existed on Twitter
- It doesn't actually communicate anything of value

Warpcast will nerf folks for explicit images. It's not deterministic, our judgement. This isn't a court.

- I'll ask the user to delete the cast
- If they don't, I'll nerf on Warpcast

To be clear: the cast exists at the protocol.

Similar to websites, Google doesn't have to index you.

Decided to mess around with Warpcast api last week. i created a farcaster following graph network. My pc could barely handle it. Warpcast desktop PSA

We're putting the existing desktop app into maintenance mode. It should still work for most core features, but we're not shipping any new improvements to it.

We're planning to replace the existing desktop app with a new, faster version soon.

Update for the Warpcast Highlights feed

- we increased the number of casts per window (assuming a baseline of engagement)

- we’re giving a 1.5x boost to new user’s casts for the first few weeks

My request for you: check it more frequently, engage with new faces, and vocally complain to me if it’s bad. :)

on bluesky, i now have ~2800 followers but the depth of engagement is much stronger on farcaster because of the early inner circle of builders i befriended last year

also when I query the WC API for collection-owners I only get 74 users back, compared to the 78 showing on WC. Any thoughts @dwr? (I want to make sure I'm showing everyone coming in a piece I'm making)
